About Us

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, who saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

Hey everyone!

My name is Dana Gould and this is my team. I'm the guy on the left. The beautiful woman to my right is my girlfreind Darla DEE. Darla and I have been on a spiritual journey together for the last year. The guy to her right, wearing the car on his hat is my good freind and spiritual brother "Swede". And next to him is a wonderful freind and spiritual sister Teri.

Mission Statement

" Two Rivers Taxi is dedicated to providing its customers with a safe, reliable form of alternative transportation at an affordable price."

Chances are that if you hire us, you'll get a laugh or two, or you may cry from some really deep conversation, or you may cry because your laughing too much. We know that as children of the earth we are all connected, and that we never know how many lives we touch in the course of a lifetime, just by talking with one other person.

So, come on, help us make the world a better place, and if we can't make it better, at least we'll know that we tried.

Our Business

Our business started in April of 2005. I sold a truck and a motorcycle, neither of which was worth anything. I borrowed some money from friends and family to get things going, and to keep me alive in the process. All tolled, I think I started with $1,100.00, and 1 van. I started to advertise, keeping costs as low as possible, and the day I opened, I had 1 van with a full tank of gas and around $200.00. Not much to get a small taxi business going out in the sticks.

I had been living in the area doing construction for a few years, and my body kept screaming at me that it was time to get out. I had had this taxi idea for some time, and decided that it was time to try something new. Taxi services had been tried by others in the past, but no one saw them through, and they disappeared. I thought there was a need, so I talked to alot of the local merchants, and got their opinions, and talked to alot of the people in the area,(I mean alot!) and every one thought it was a great idea. 1 or 2 naysayers told me it would never work.

I have seen good times, and lean times, when I was working just to get a tank of gas, but I'm still here and making progress. I have always followed the rule in business that states, " take care of your people first", and I really believe that.

I have found that dreams can become reality if you have the fortitude to see them through. Follow your heart, and don't let anyone tell you different. In the end it is God that has the final word, and who are we to argue with that?

We are a country based operation, and don't have the hustle and bustle business of the big city, and we kinda like that. We're a small outfit, and we kinda like that too. We know that there is always room for improvement and growth, and we are striving earnestly toward both.

In November of 2007 we introduced service to the Lakes Region and have intentions of bringing service back to the Buxton, Hollis area once again.

  • In October of 2007 Two Rivers Taxi was selected as sole transportation company for the Fryeburg Fair.
  • In the years 2006 and 2007, Two Rivers Taxi has been the sole transpotation company for the Saco River Recreation department. Servicing all of the Saco River canoe access points in Fryeburg and Brownfield Maine.
  • Since infancy, Two Rivers Taxi has been working closely with M.S.A.D.#55 in the transportation of Special Ed students, and has thus far transported over 25 students in 3 years ranging in age between 8 and 18.
  • Two Rivers Taxi has also worked closely at times with the Dept. of Health and Human Services to fill the needs of individuals who cannot do so for themselves.

Who We Are

 Teri Nickerson - Student Transportation

Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusettes, and now a resident of Porter Me., I moved to Maine in 1999. I live on a small farm that we own, and board horses, called the Lazy J. Stables. I love animals and people,(in that order) and when I was in school, I had done some work with kids with learning disabilities. I have an 8 year old daughter Janet, who keeps me busy with many activities. I have been working with Two Rivers for about 1 year, and absolutely love my job. It's alot of fun to talk with the students, and watch them grow in the process. I feel that my job is an asset to our community. As well as driving for Two Rivers during the day, I work at a local restaraunt 4 nights a week, and help my husband Bob take care of the horses, and take care of my family.

Darla J. DEE - Student/Public Transportation

As a native of the area, I have gotten to know alot of the local people. My father Laurent Provencher was a well respected and very well liked man, in, and around the Limerick Me. area. Among other things, my father was the local Barber, with whom I had worked until his passing in 2006. I have been a Master Barber for 19 years and own a small shop in East Baldwin Me., where I live with Dana. I think Two Rivers Taxi brings a much needed service to our community. As well as Barbering, and driving for Dana when needed, I also own and operate  a DJ/Karaoke business called D.J.DEE Entertainment, and have a Gospel CD "Gospel on the Rock", on the market that I recorded 3 years ago. I have given my life to the service of God, and am thankful for the blessings that I have received.

C.E. "Swede" Hallgren - Student/Public Transportation

Dana Gould - Owner/Operator

Originally from Saugus Massachusettes, I moved to Maine in 2001. As a jack of all trades and master of none,(paper boy, cook, lumberjack, skidder operator, cable tv lineman, installer, foreman, excavation construction, dozer & excavator operator, CDL B driver, computer network installer, fiber splicer, Honeywell project manager, Broadband field service engineer, carpenter) I thought it would be nice to work for myself for a change. So here I am, living the american dream and knowing what it means to be your own boss. I have worked hard all my life, and will continue to due so unil the good LORD tells me it's time to quit.

I would like to thank my family. My Mom & Dad, (married 47 years) my brothers and sister, and their spouses, and all of my old, and new freinds for supporting me and believing in me. God has given me a life that I could never dream of. I love you all.
